Thanks in part to a generous legacy, in early 2011 the Appeal funded over £500,000 of additional specialist equipment in a second cardiac catheterisation laboratory in the new Cardiac Suite. This enables specialists at Salisbury District Hospital to carry out treatment (angioplasties or stents) for people with heart disease rather than a patient having to travel to Bournemouth or Southampton as was previously the case.
