Little Lives fund - N.I.C.U & Maternity

there is no greater challenge than saving a life that is yet to be lived

At Salisbury District Hospital, 1 in 10 babies are born too small, too sick or too soon and therefore need additional care. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (aka NICU or Special Care Baby Unit) provides this to around 300 babies every year. These babies, who can weigh less than a bag of sugar and fit in the palm of your hand, need everything that modern technology can offer.

Donations to the Stars Appeal Little Lives fund provide the Unit with the state-of-the-art treatment and diagnostic equipment that helps staff deliver the best possible care to these fragile young lives. Donations also enable us to support the Stars Appeal funded Joan Stainer Family Accommodation Unit, where parents can stay free-of-charge whilst their baby is in NICU. The Little Lives fund also supports projects that benefit newborn babies on the Hospital’s maternity wards.
