A message from Miss Helen Chave, Consultant Surgeon and Chair of the Stars Appeal CT Scanner Campaign
Further to the success of the Stars Appeal CT Scanner Campaign in 2013/14, we are delighted to publish a report detailing the impact of the new CT Scanners, which have now been in operation for just over a year. This has been produced by our Lead Radiologist, Dr Lucy Bushby and also features feedback from consultants across a range of different specialities, including myself. You can see the report here.
As you will read, the new scanners have already made a huge difference in terms of waiting times and scan availability and also for the introduction of new, cutting edge treatment techniques. All of this has combined to significantly enhance the care my colleagues and I are able to provide to thousands of local people and is enabling us to go above and beyond even the high standards that national NHS guidelines expect of us.
